- I preened at that comment, what man wouldn't? I kept quiet and listened as Zara explained to Carol that she'd had far too much to drink and that nobody should take what she said when she was drunk too seriously. I grinned when Carol wickedly pretended annoyance that Zara didn't fancy me after all, and then I had to stop myself laughing when an uncomfortable Zara tried to explain that she did fancy me but that she wouldn't try it on with me behind Carol's back. There was a long silence as Zara tried to digest that piece of information and then she eventually asked if Carol and I were still friends with her. Yes, of course, she was told, so why didn't she come around for coffee the next evening - no alcohol, a still giggling Carol added.
- When she'd got off the phone Carol turned to me and said something really unexpected. 'You see, she does want to bed you or she wouldn't have agreed to come round so easily after what I said to her. When she comes around see if you can seduce her.'
